Matthieu Venot was born in 1979 in Brest, France.
Trained as a sound engineer, he spent years listening to the world before learning to see it differently. Around 2014, he turned his lens toward the city — not to document it, but to reinvent it.
His obsession: colour, geometry, silence. A tower block, a parasol, a beach cabin. The banal, transfigured.
Colour has no borders.
Brest, Miami, Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, Moscow — the cities change, the vision stays the same. Each image is an invitation to see the world as it could be: brighter, more joyful, more beautiful.
His work has been shown at Art Basel Miami, the Affordable Art Fairs in Hong Kong and Singapore, and in museums in Russia. In 2018, he collaborated with Tyler the Creator for GQ Style. He has also collaborated with Figaret (2023) and Eastpak (2015).
